Les Crane
Les Crane (December 3, 1933 – July 20, 2008) was an American television and radio talk show host, best known for hosting The Les Crane Show, a syndicated late-night television talk show that aired from 1964 to 1965. Crane's show was known for its innovative format, incorporating phone calls from viewers and discussions of controversial topics, often featuring prominent figures in politics, entertainment, and social commentary. He was one of the pioneers of the confrontational talk show format that later became more common.
Before his television career, Crane worked in radio. Following The Les Crane Show, he continued to work in television, hosting and appearing on various programs. He also ventured into acting, appearing in films and television shows. In his later years, he became involved in the technology industry, focusing on telecommunications. Crane also authored the book Les Crane on the Electronic Office published in 1982. He died of cancer in Greenbrae, California.
