Lanark—Frontenac—Lennox and Addington (federal electoral district)

Lanark—Frontenac—Lennox and Addington is a federal electoral district in Ontario, Canada. It has been represented in the House of Commons of Canada since 2004.

The riding was created in 2003 from parts of the former ridings of Lanark—Carleton, Frontenac—Melfort—Addington, and Leeds—Grenville.

Geographically, Lanark—Frontenac—Lennox and Addington encompasses a large area of eastern Ontario, characterized by a mix of rural communities, agricultural lands, and numerous lakes. It includes the municipalities of Lanark Highlands, Frontenac Islands, South Frontenac, North Frontenac, Addington Highlands, Lennox and Addington County, and portions of Rideau Lakes and Tay Valley.

Historically, the riding has generally favoured centre-right political parties, with the Conservative Party of Canada holding the seat for much of its existence. Voter demographics are varied, reflecting the diverse economic activities and population density across the large geographic area.

The riding’s boundaries have been adjusted slightly in subsequent federal electoral redistribution exercises, but its core geographic area and general political leanings have remained relatively consistent since its creation. Key economic sectors within the riding include agriculture, tourism, forestry, and small-scale manufacturing.
