Kuulo Kalamees

Kuulo Kalamees (1934-2021) was an Estonian mycologist and botanist. He specialized in the study of fungi, particularly boletes and other macrofungi. Kalamees contributed significantly to the knowledge of Estonian mycoflora, authoring numerous scientific papers and popular science articles on the subject. He also participated in the compilation of Estonian fungal atlases and field guides, making his research accessible to both professional scientists and amateur mushroom enthusiasts. Kalamees' work significantly advanced the understanding of fungal diversity and ecology in the Baltic region.
