Kon (magazine)

Kon was a Japanese avant-garde art and design magazine published from 1961 to 1963. Edited by Kiyoji Otsuji, it featured contributions from a wide range of artists, designers, photographers, and writers, and is notable for its experimental layouts and typography, its coverage of emerging artistic trends, and its critical commentary on Japanese society and culture during a period of rapid modernization. Kon played a significant role in introducing new artistic concepts and visual styles to a Japanese audience and is now considered a significant publication in the history of Japanese graphic design and modern art. The magazine ceased publication after only a few issues, but its influence continues to be felt.
