Kolymvari

Kolymvari is a town located in the northwest of the island of Crete, Greece, in the Chania regional unit. It is part of the municipality of Platanias. Kolymvari is situated on the coast, approximately 24 kilometers west of the city of Chania.

The town is known for its olive groves and olive oil production. The area around Kolymvari is a significant olive-growing region, and the town is home to the Orthodox Academy of Crete, which also has a prominent role in promoting the local olive oil industry and research.

Kolymvari features a harbor, used primarily by fishing boats and small tourist vessels. The coastline near Kolymvari offers beaches and opportunities for swimming and sunbathing. The town also has a selection of restaurants, tavernas, and shops catering to both locals and tourists.

The Gonia Monastery, a historic monastery, is located a few kilometers north of Kolymvari.
