Koga Dam
The Koga Dam is a concrete gravity dam located on the Naka River in Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan. Its primary purpose is flood control and irrigation. Construction on the dam was completed in 1972. The dam creates a reservoir, providing a water supply for agricultural use in the surrounding area and mitigating downstream flooding during periods of heavy rainfall. The reservoir's capacity is utilized for water regulation, supporting stable water availability for irrigation purposes throughout the year. The dam structure and its operations contribute to the overall water resource management strategy for the Naka River basin.
