Khoroo
A Khoroo (хорoo) is an administrative subdivision of a district (duureg) in Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia. These are the smallest units of formal administrative division within the city's structure. Each duureg is further divided into several khoroos. The number of khoroos within a duureg varies. The khoroo is headed by an official, responsible for local administration and implementing the policies of the higher levels of government within their designated territory. Khoroos perform various administrative functions, including registering residents, maintaining local infrastructure, and addressing local concerns. Their role is vital for governance at the grassroots level within the urban environment of Ulaanbaatar.
