Khalid (writer)

Khalid Muhammad Khalid (1920-1996) was an Egyptian Islamic thinker and writer. He is best known for his influential book, "Min Hunā Nabda'u" ("From Here We Start"), published in 1950. This book advocated for a synthesis of Islamic principles and modern societal needs, arguing for social justice, economic equality, and democratic governance rooted in Islamic values. It critiqued existing socio-political structures and called for a renewal of Islamic thought to address contemporary challenges.

Khalid's work played a significant role in shaping Islamic intellectual discourse in the mid-20th century and influenced various Islamic movements and thinkers. He was a proponent of progressive interpretation of Islamic texts and believed in the importance of adapting religious teachings to the evolving circumstances of modern life.
