Ken Rutherford (cricketer)
Ken Rutherford (born 26 April 1965) is a former New Zealand cricketer who played primarily as a right-handed batsman and occasional right-arm medium pace bowler. He captained the New Zealand national cricket team in both Test and One Day International (ODI) formats.
Rutherford made his Test debut in 1985 against Australia and played his last Test match in 1995 against India. He featured prominently in New Zealand's middle order during the late 1980s and early 1990s. He was known for his aggressive style of play and his ability to score quickly.
He also played in 140 ODIs, captaining the team in 63 of those matches. Rutherford's ODI career spanned from 1985 to 1995. He retired from international cricket in 1995.
Following his playing career, Rutherford has been involved in various roles within cricket administration and commentary.
