iZombie (TV series)

iZombie is an American supernatural procedural crime drama television series developed by Rob Thomas and Diane Ruggiero-Wright, based on the comic book series of the same name created by Chris Roberson and Michael Allred, published by DC Comics' Vertigo imprint. The series premiered on The CW on March 17, 2015, and ran for five seasons, concluding on August 1, 2019.

The show follows Olivia "Liv" Moore (played by Rose McIver), a medical resident who becomes a zombie. To maintain her humanity and suppress her hunger for brains, she takes a job at the King County Medical Examiner's Office. By consuming the brains of murder victims, Liv temporarily inherits their memories and personalities, which she uses to help solve their murders alongside Detective Clive Babineaux (Malcolm Goodwin).

The series blends elements of crime procedural, comedy, drama, and supernatural horror. The narrative expands beyond simple murder cases to explore broader themes of zombie existence, corporate greed, government conspiracy, and the moral implications of brain consumption. Supporting characters include Liv's best friend Peyton Charles (Aly Michalka), her ex-fiancé Major Lilywhite (Robert Buckley), and her zombie confidant Ravi Chakrabarti (Rahul Kohli), who works with her at the morgue.

Throughout its run, iZombie received positive reviews for its witty writing, strong performances, and clever blending of genres. The series explores complex themes related to identity, morality, and the human condition within the context of a zombie apocalypse.
