Katie Douglas (basketball)

Katie Douglas (basketball) is a retired American professional basketball player. Primarily a shooting guard, she played 14 seasons in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA).

Douglas was born on May 7, 1979. She played college basketball at Purdue University, where she led the Boilermakers to the 1999 NCAA Women's Division I Basketball Championship. She was named the Final Four Most Outstanding Player.

Douglas was drafted 10th overall by the Orlando Miracle in the 2001 WNBA Draft. Her WNBA career also included stints with the Connecticut Sun, Indiana Fever, and New York Liberty. She won a WNBA championship with the Indiana Fever in 2012, playing alongside Tamika Catchings.

Throughout her WNBA career, Douglas was known for her scoring ability, defensive intensity, and leadership qualities. She was a three-time WNBA All-Star (2006, 2007, 2009) and was named to the All-WNBA First Team in 2006 and 2007. She was also a consistent presence on All-Defensive teams.

Following her WNBA career, Douglas pursued coaching opportunities and remained involved in the basketball community.
