Jim Weir (basketball)

Jim Weir is an American college basketball coach. He is currently the head men's basketball coach at the University of Wisconsin-Superior, a position he has held since 2022.

Prior to Wisconsin-Superior, Weir held numerous coaching positions at various levels. He served as the head coach at the University of Sioux Falls from 2015 to 2018. Before Sioux Falls, he was the head coach at Lake Superior State University from 2003 to 2015, where he achieved notable success, including a GLIAC tournament championship and an NCAA tournament appearance.

Weir's coaching career also includes assistant coaching roles at several universities, including Southwest Minnesota State University, Wayne State College, and Dickinson State University. He is known for his emphasis on player development, fundamental basketball skills, and building strong team cultures.
