Jerry Williams (politician)
Jerry Williams (born c. 1941) is an American politician who served as the mayor of West Palm Beach, Florida from 1991 to 1993 and again from 1995 to 2007. He is a member of the Democratic Party.
Williams's initial mayoral tenure was cut short after he was suspended by then-Governor Lawton Chiles due to an indictment on charges of perjury and official misconduct. He was subsequently acquitted of all charges and was reinstated to office in 1995, winning re-election that same year.
During his time as mayor, Williams oversaw significant redevelopment efforts in downtown West Palm Beach, including the development of CityPlace (now Rosemary Square) and improvements to the waterfront. He focused on economic development and attracting businesses to the city.
After leaving office in 2007, Williams remained involved in the West Palm Beach community.
