James Arthur (album)
James Arthur is the debut studio album by British singer James Arthur, winner of the ninth series of The X Factor in 2012. It was released on 1 November 2013 through Syco Music.
The album primarily features a pop and rock sound, with influences of soul and R&B. Several producers contributed to the album, including TMS, Wayne Hector, and Rami Yacoub. Arthur himself co-wrote many of the tracks.
The album spawned several singles, including "Impossible," Arthur's winner's single, which was originally recorded by Shontelle. Other singles include "You're Nobody 'til Somebody Loves You" and "Get Down".
James Arthur received mixed reviews from critics. While some praised Arthur's vocal performance and songwriting, others criticized the album for being generic and lacking originality.
Commercially, the album was a moderate success. It reached number two on the UK Albums Chart and was certified platinum by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI). It also charted in several other countries.
