Jōtarō

Jōtarō Kūjō (空条 承太郎, Kūjō Jōtarō) is the protagonist of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders, and a major character in Diamond is Unbreakable, Golden Wind, and Stone Ocean. He is the third and arguably most iconic JoJo of the series.

Jōtarō is the grandson of Joseph Joestar, the protagonist of Battle Tendency, and the son of Holy Kujo. He is initially presented as a rebellious and stoic high school student, who is troubled by a mysterious spiritual power he later learns is a Stand, named Star Platinum.

His story in Stardust Crusaders revolves around his journey to Egypt to defeat the ancient vampire DIO (Dio Brando), who has returned and is causing his mother Holy to fall ill due to the awakening of her own Stand, which she cannot control.

Jōtarō is characterized by his cool demeanor, unwavering resolve, and incredible strength. He is highly intelligent and observant, often analyzing situations and formulating strategies before acting. His signature catchphrase is "Yare yare daze" (やれやれだぜ), often translated as "Good grief," "What a pain," or similar expressions of exasperation.

Star Platinum, Jōtarō's Stand, is a close-range combat Stand possessing incredible speed, strength, and precision. It is also known for its ability to stop time for a brief period, an ability revealed later in the Stardust Crusaders arc.

Jōtarō plays significant roles in subsequent parts of the series, mentoring other characters and using his experience to combat new threats, solidifying his status as a key figure in the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure universe. In later parts, he is portrayed as a marine biologist, balancing his scientific pursuits with his duties as a protector against supernatural forces.
