Itamar (Israeli settlement)

Itamar is an Israeli settlement located in the Samaria region of the West Bank, approximately 5 kilometers (3.1 miles) southeast of Nablus. It falls under the jurisdiction of the Shomron Regional Council.

Established in 1984, Itamar's establishment and continued existence are considered illegal under international law, as are all Israeli settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories, according to the Fourth Geneva Convention, which prohibits an occupying power from transferring its civilian population into occupied territory. Israel disputes this interpretation.

Itamar's population is primarily composed of religious Zionists. The settlement has been the subject of controversy and has experienced incidents of violence.
