Homegrown (1998 film)

Homegrown is a 1998 American dark comedy crime film directed by Stephen Gyllenhaal. It stars Billy Bob Thornton, Hank Azaria, Kelly Lynch, Ryan Phillippe, and Jon Bon Jovi.

The film follows three marijuana growers, Jack (Billy Bob Thornton), Carter (Hank Azaria), and Harlan (Ryan Phillippe), who accidentally kill their boss, John (John Lithgow), and decide to bury him and take over his business. Their clumsy attempts to cover up the murder and run the operation lead to increasingly farcical and dangerous situations.

The film explores themes of greed, incompetence, and the unintended consequences of criminal behavior. It received mixed reviews upon release and was not a commercial success.
