Hat Pak

Hat Pak, also Romanized as Hart Park, refers to a historical and cultural landmark located in Bakersfield, California. It is a county park established in 1921, named after County Supervisor Thomas Baker Hart, who played a significant role in its creation. The park is situated on a portion of the Kern River floodplain.

Hat Pak is primarily known for its preserved sections showcasing the natural environment of the Kern River, including riparian habitats and wildlife. It features picnic areas, walking trails, a lake stocked for fishing, and the Kern County Museum's Pioneer Village. The Pioneer Village is an open-air museum displaying historical buildings and artifacts representing life in Kern County from the mid-19th to early 20th centuries. This includes a one-room schoolhouse, a blacksmith shop, and residences reflecting the area’s history.
