HMS Slinger (D26)

HMS Slinger (D26) was a Ruler-class escort carrier built for the Royal Navy during World War II. Originally constructed in the United States as the Rio Parana, she was transferred to the United Kingdom under the Lend-Lease agreement. After being commissioned in 1943, Slinger served primarily as a training and transport carrier. She saw service in the Pacific in 1945, supporting the British Pacific Fleet. Following the war, she was returned to the United States and sold into merchant service, eventually being scrapped.
