Going Up (film)

Going Up is a 1923 American silent comedy film directed by Lloyd Ingraham and starring Douglas MacLean, Hallam Cooley, and Marjorie Daw. The film is based on the 1917 Broadway musical of the same name, which in turn was adapted from the 1910 play The Aviator by James Montgomery.

The story revolves around a young writer, Hopkins, who boasts about his ability to fly an airplane, despite having no experience. He enters an international air race to impress a woman, Madeleine, whom he has fallen in love with. Through a series of comedic mishaps and with the help of some unlikely allies, Hopkins ultimately finds himself competing in the race and attempting to live up to his self-proclaimed title.
