Giovanni Giudici (bishop)

Giovanni Giudici (born March 4, 1940, Varese, Italy; died January 8, 2024, Pavia, Italy) was an Italian Roman Catholic prelate. He served as the Bishop of Pavia from 2003 to 2015.

Giudici was ordained a priest on June 27, 1964. He served in various pastoral roles within the Archdiocese of Milan before being appointed Auxiliary Bishop of Milan and Titular Bishop of Accia on June 9, 1990. He was consecrated as bishop on June 29, 1990.

On December 1, 2003, he was appointed Bishop of Pavia, succeeding Bishop Giovanni Volta. He was installed on January 25, 2004. Giudici retired on December 1, 2015, and was succeeded by Bishop Corrado Sanguineti.

During his time as Bishop of Pavia, Giudici focused on social issues, including poverty and unemployment, and promoted dialogue between different religious and cultural groups.
