Galloway and Upper Nithsdale (Scottish Parliament constituency)
Galloway and Upper Nithsdale was a Scottish Parliament constituency created in 1999 and abolished in 2011. It elected one Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) by the first past the post method of election.
The constituency covered the entirety of the Dumfries and Galloway council area and a portion of the East Ayrshire council area. Specifically, it comprised the following electoral wards of Dumfries and Galloway: Annandale East, Annandale North, Annandale South, Castle Douglas, Dalbeattie, Dee, Kirkcudbright, Lochar, Mid Galloway, Nithsdale East, Nithsdale West, Stewartry North, Stewartry South, and Wigtown West. Within East Ayrshire, it included the electoral ward of Ballochmyle.
The seat was abolished for the 2011 Scottish Parliament election, with its area largely divided between the new constituencies of Dumfriesshire and Galloway and West Dumfries.
