John Morrison (Montana politician)

John Morrison is an American politician and attorney from Montana. He served as the 31st Attorney General of Montana from 2001 to 2009, as a member of the Democratic Party.

Born in Great Falls, Montana, Morrison graduated from the University of Montana with a degree in political science and later earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Montana School of Law.

Prior to his election as Attorney General, Morrison served as a Deputy County Attorney for Cascade County, Montana. As Attorney General, he focused on issues such as consumer protection, environmental enforcement, and combating illegal drug trafficking. He also worked to strengthen Montana's laws related to campaign finance and government ethics.

Morrison ran for Governor of Montana in 2008, but was unsuccessful. Following his tenure as Attorney General, he returned to private law practice.
