Fred Gibson (racing driver)
Fred Gibson is an Australian former racing driver and team owner, primarily known for his successes in touring car racing.
Gibson began his career in the 1960s and quickly established himself as a competitive driver. He achieved significant success in the Australian Touring Car Championship (ATCC), now known as the Supercars Championship, winning the title in 1967 driving a Ford Cortina GT500. He was also a multi-time Bathurst 1000 winner.
Beyond his driving achievements, Gibson is also respected for his team ownership and management. Fred Gibson Racing was a prominent team in Australian touring car racing for many years, fielding competitive entries and contributing to the development of several drivers.
