Ferdinand Runk

Ferdinand Runk (1764-1834) was an Austrian painter and draughtsman, primarily known for his landscape paintings and vedute (detailed city views). He was born in Freiburg im Breisgau and later moved to Vienna, where he became a member of the Academy of Fine Arts. Runk's work often depicted scenes of Vienna and its surrounding areas, including the Danube River. His style is characterized by its meticulous detail, atmospheric perspective, and realistic representation of architecture and nature. He produced both oil paintings and watercolors, and his works are found in numerous museum collections.
