Estarband
Estarband, also sometimes referred to as a "strung-out band" or a "ragtag group," is a pejorative term, primarily used in the United Kingdom, to describe a disorganised, often amateurish, and generally ineffective group of people working towards a common goal. While it can be applied to any group, it is most frequently used in the context of musical ensembles, particularly bands, choirs, or orchestras. The term implies a lack of cohesion, professionalism, and talent within the group.
The usage often suggests that the group is more enthusiastic than skilled, and that their efforts are unlikely to produce positive results. It can also imply that the group lacks leadership or a clear sense of direction. The term carries a strong negative connotation and is typically used to express derision or disapproval. Its origins are unclear, but its meaning is generally understood within British English vernacular.
