Edward FitzGerald (1738–1814)

Edward FitzGerald (1738–1814) was an Irish landowner and politician. He was the father of Lord Edward FitzGerald, a prominent figure in the 1798 Irish Rebellion. FitzGerald served as a Member of Parliament (MP) for County Kildare in the Parliament of Ireland. He held significant property in Ireland and was a leading member of the Irish aristocracy of his time. Though less celebrated than his son, Edward FitzGerald (1738-1814) played a role in Irish political life and contributed to the socio-economic landscape of 18th-century Ireland through his land ownership and political participation.
