Eddie Miller (infielder)

Eddie Miller (born July 26, 1916, in Cincinnati, Ohio, died August 29, 1997, in Cincinnati, Ohio) was an American professional baseball player, primarily a shortstop, who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) from 1936 to 1950.

Miller's career began with the Cincinnati Reds in 1936, where he played until 1945. He was a key member of the Reds teams that won the National League pennant in 1939 and 1940 and the World Series in 1940. A skilled defensive player known for his strong arm and quick reflexes, Miller was also a consistent offensive contributor, known for his ability to hit for average and drive in runs.

Following his time with the Reds, Miller played for the Boston Braves in 1946 and 1947. He finished his MLB career with the St. Louis Cardinals in 1948 and the Philadelphia Phillies in 1949 and 1950.

Over his career, Miller was a seven-time All-Star. After retiring from professional baseball, he remained involved in the sport as a coach and scout.
