Duologue

A duologue (also spelled dialogue in some contexts) refers to a conversation or exchange between two people. It is a literary or theatrical device, and can also describe a real-life conversation. The emphasis is on the interaction and back-and-forth exchange of ideas, information, or feelings.

While "dialogue" more broadly refers to any conversation, including conversations with more than two participants, "duologue" specifically indicates a conversation between two. In dramatic works, a duologue can be a significant scene, used to develop characters, explore conflict, or advance the plot. A duologue often carries more weight than a simple conversation because the audience's attention is focused solely on the interaction between those two characters.
