Duncan Davidson (Cromartyshire MP, born 1800)
Duncan Davidson (1800 – 1881) was a Scottish landowner and politician. He served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Cromartyshire from 1846 to 1859.
Born to Duncan Davidson of Tulloch and Elizabeth Mackenzie, he inherited the Tulloch estate near Dingwall, Ross-shire. He was educated at Eton College.
Davidson entered Parliament following a by-election in 1846. He was generally considered a Conservative. During his time in the House of Commons, he participated in debates on matters pertaining to Scotland and agricultural concerns. He did not seek re-election in 1859.
He married Georgiana Prescott, daughter of Admiral Sir George Beeston Prescott, in 1823. They had several children, including Duncan Davidson of Tulloch (1825-1910) who also became a prominent figure in Ross-shire.
Davidson was a Deputy Lieutenant and Justice of the Peace for Ross-shire. He died at Tulloch Castle in 1881.
