Doug Gjertsen

Doug Gjertsen (born July 30, 1967) is an American former competition swimmer. He represented the United States at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea, where he won a gold medal as a member of the winning U.S. team in the 4x200-meter freestyle relay. He also won a bronze medal at the same Olympics in the 4x100-meter freestyle relay.

Gjertsen attended the University of Texas at Austin, where he swam for the Texas Longhorns swimming and diving team under coach Eddie Reese. During his collegiate career, he was a multiple-time All-American and NCAA champion.

After his swimming career, Gjertsen worked in the financial services industry.
