Dogashima
Dogashima is a scenic area located on the western coast of the Izu Peninsula in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. It is known for its rugged coastline, numerous small islands, sea caves, and unique rock formations sculpted by the wind and waves of the Pacific Ocean.
One of Dogashima's main attractions is the Sanshiro Island, a small island connected to the mainland by a sandbar that emerges only during low tide. Visitors can walk across the sandbar to explore the island at low tide. The area is also popular for cruises that navigate through the sea caves, offering views of the dramatic coastal scenery from the water.
Dogashima offers a range of activities including hiking, swimming, fishing, and diving. Several hot spring resorts (onsen) are located in the area, making it a popular destination for relaxation and sightseeing. Its natural beauty and accessibility make it a well-known tourist spot within the Izu Peninsula.
