Doc Cook (baseball)
Doc Cook was the nickname of Charles Walter Cook (July 26, 1886 – December 19, 1967), an American professional baseball player. He played primarily as a third baseman in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the New York Giants from 1910 to 1916.
Cook attended Columbia University, where he also played baseball. He debuted in the major leagues on April 14, 1910. Cook was a member of the Giants teams that won three consecutive National League pennants from 1911 to 1913, though they lost each World Series appearance. He was known for his defensive abilities at third base. Following his playing career, Cook remained involved in baseball as a scout.
