Diego Domínguez (rugby union)

Diego Domínguez (born 25 April 1966 in Córdoba, Argentina) is a former Argentine-Italian rugby union player. He primarily played as a fly-half. He is considered one of Italy's greatest ever rugby players and was instrumental in their early success in the Six Nations Championship.

Domínguez began his international career with Argentina, playing for Los Pumas in the late 1980s. He then qualified to play for Italy through ancestry. He debuted for Italy in 1989 and went on to earn 74 caps.

He was a prolific points scorer, renowned for his accurate kicking and tactical kicking abilities. He accumulated a significant number of points for Italy through penalties, conversions, and drop goals. At the time of his retirement, he held the record for most points scored in the Six Nations Championship.

Domínguez played club rugby for various teams including San Isidro Club (Argentina), Amatori Rugby Milano, and Stade Français.

Following his retirement from playing, Domínguez has remained involved in rugby as a pundit and commentator. He also worked as a kicking coach.
