Desa (company)
Desa is a defunct Norwegian company that manufactured and sold heating appliances, primarily oil-burning stoves and heaters. The company was headquartered in Rykkin, Norway. Desa experienced significant growth in the 1970s and 1980s, becoming a major player in the European heating market. However, it faced increasing competition and declining sales in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
The company's products were often sold under the Desa brand name, but also under other brand names through private label agreements.
Desa filed for bankruptcy in 2009. The Desa name and some of its assets were subsequently acquired by other companies. While the Desa brand may still exist on some products, the original Desa company is no longer in operation. Information regarding the company's history and specific product lines is limited due to its defunct status.
