David Barr (politician)
David Barr (born November 18, 1938, died June 13, 2017) was a Canadian politician who served as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) in British Columbia.
Barr represented the riding of Comox in the British Columbia Legislative Assembly from 1986 to 2001. He was a member of the New Democratic Party (NDP) and served as a cabinet minister in the government of Premier Glen Clark. His portfolios included Minister of Finance and Corporate Relations.
Prior to entering provincial politics, Barr was a teacher. He was also active in municipal politics, serving as a councillor in the Village of Cumberland.
During his time in the legislature, Barr was known for his contributions to fiscal policy and his advocacy for the Comox Valley. He retired from politics in 2001.
