Daisuke Suzuki (shogi)

Daisuke Suzuki (鈴木 大介, Suzuki Daisuke, born October 20, 1974) is a Japanese professional shogi player, ranked 9-dan.

Suzuki is known for his aggressive attacking style, particularly his expertise in the Double Wing Attack opening. He turned professional in 1993 after being a student of shogi professional Yūji Sase. He achieved 9-dan status in 2010.

Notable achievements include winning the Ryūō title in 2003, defeating Yoshiharu Habu and becoming the first player from outside the established Meijin league to claim the title directly. He also holds the record for the most consecutive games played in a single year, playing 101 games in 2005. He has won numerous other tournaments and awards throughout his career, solidifying his position as one of the top shogi players of his generation.
