Cristina Garcia (politician)

Cristina Garcia (born December 1, 1977) is an American politician who served in the California State Assembly, representing the 58th Assembly District from 2012 to 2022. The 58th district included portions of southeast Los Angeles County, including the cities of Bell Gardens, Commerce, Downey, Montebello, Norwalk, Pico Rivera, and Vernon.

A member of the Democratic Party, Garcia served as the chair of the California Legislative Women's Caucus. She was a vocal advocate for environmental justice, particularly related to air quality issues in her district. During her time in the Assembly, she focused on issues such as clean energy, environmental regulation, and women's rights.

Garcia faced allegations of sexual harassment and misconduct, which led to investigations and the loss of some of her committee assignments. While she maintained her innocence on some charges, she was censured by the Assembly for violating its sexual harassment policy.
