Couder (crater)

Couder is a lunar impact crater that lies on the far side of the Moon. It is located to the southwest of the larger crater Tsiolkovskiy, and northeast of Landau.

This crater is roughly circular, with a slightly eroded outer rim. The inner walls slope down to a relatively level interior floor. There is a small craterlet lying along the eastern inner wall. The interior is otherwise relatively featureless, with only a few tiny craterlets marking the surface.

Couder lies within the Mare Moscoviense basin, though not within the mare itself. Its relatively pristine appearance suggests it is younger than the surrounding terrain.
