Corey Brown (jockey)

Corey Brown is an Australian thoroughbred horse racing jockey. Born on January 14, 1976, Brown is known for riding many Group 1 winners throughout his career, both in Australia and internationally.

Brown began his career in the early 1990s and quickly established himself as a leading rider. He has won numerous prestigious races, including the Melbourne Cup twice, aboard Shocking in 2009 and Rekindling in 2017. His other major victories include the Caulfield Cup, Cox Plate, and Golden Slipper.

He is known for his tactical riding ability and cool temperament under pressure. Brown has also ridden successfully in international competitions, including in Hong Kong and Singapore.

Brown has faced setbacks throughout his career, including injuries that have kept him sidelined for periods of time. He announced his retirement from racing in 2019 after sustaining injuries in a fall, but later made a return to the saddle.
