Church of Our Lady of the Rosary (Doha)

The Church of Our Lady of the Rosary in Doha, Qatar, is a Roman Catholic church. It is the first Catholic church built in Qatar and one of the few churches operating openly in the Arabian Peninsula. Consecrated on March 14, 2008, it was built on land donated by the Emir of Qatar, Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. Due to Qatari laws restricting the public display of religious symbols, the church features no crosses or bells on its exterior. The church serves a large expatriate Catholic population, primarily composed of Filipino and Indian workers. It is part of the Apostolic Vicariate of Northern Arabia and offers services in multiple languages to cater to the diverse congregation. The building complex also includes facilities for religious education and social gatherings. The establishment of the church is seen as a significant step in religious tolerance and interfaith dialogue in the region.
