Chris Collins (basketball)

Chris Collins (born April 19, 1974) is an American college basketball coach. He is currently the head coach of the Northwestern University Wildcats men's basketball team.

Collins played college basketball at Duke University under head coach Mike Krzyzewski from 1992 to 1996. As a player, he was a three-time All-ACC selection and helped lead the Blue Devils to the 1994 NCAA Championship game. He served as team captain during his senior year.

After graduating from Duke, Collins began his coaching career as an assistant coach at Detroit Country Day School. He then served as an assistant coach under Tommy Amaker at Seton Hall University from 1998 to 2000. In 2000, he returned to Duke as an assistant coach under Krzyzewski, a position he held until 2013. During his time at Duke, Collins was known as a strong recruiter and tactician.

Collins was named the head coach of Northwestern University on March 27, 2013. In 2017, he led the Wildcats to their first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance in program history. He has been credited with revitalizing the Northwestern basketball program and building a culture of success. He has also coached several players who have gone on to play professionally.
