Chief of Defence Forces (Malaysia)

The Chief of Defence Forces (Malay: Panglima Angkatan Tentera) is the highest-ranking military officer in the Malaysian Armed Forces. This individual is responsible for the overall command, control, and administration of the three branches of the Armed Forces: the Royal Malaysian Army, the Royal Malaysian Navy, and the Royal Malaysian Air Force.

The Chief of Defence Forces is appointed by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong (King of Malaysia) on the advice of the Prime Minister. They hold the rank of General (Army), Admiral (Navy) or Air Chief Marshal (Air Force), depending on the branch of service they originate from.
