Charles Hart (actor)

Charles Hart is an English actor and lyricist. He is best known for his contributions to musical theatre, most notably as the lyricist for Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera.

While often referred to as solely the lyricist, Hart's contributions to The Phantom of the Opera extended beyond just the words. He also collaborated with Lloyd Webber on the overall structure and narrative elements of the musical.

Other works include lyrics for the musical Aspects of Love, also by Andrew Lloyd Webber, and additional material for the Disney film James and the Giant Peach.

Hart has received numerous awards and nominations for his work, including an Olivier Award for Best New Musical (for The Phantom of the Opera). He continues to work in theatre.
