Carr ministry (1995–1997)

The Carr ministry (1995–1997) refers to the period of government in New South Wales, Australia, led by Premier Bob Carr. Carr assumed office on 4 April 1995, following the Labor Party's victory in the 1995 state election, defeating the Liberal-National coalition government led by Premier John Fahey.

This first Carr ministry was marked by a number of key policy initiatives. These included a focus on fiscal responsibility, attempts to reduce state debt, and investments in infrastructure, particularly in the areas of transport and education. Significant attention was also given to environmental issues, including the protection of native forests and the development of policies aimed at addressing climate change.

The ministry also dealt with several significant events during its term, including ongoing debate about the privatization of state-owned assets and the preparations for the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games.

The Carr ministry continued after the 1999 state election, marking the beginning of a new term and a subsequent ministry. The "Carr ministry (1995-1997)" specifically describes the period from April 1995 to March 1999.
