Brian Fisher (baseball)
Brian Fisher (born November 21, 1962) is a former professional baseball pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the New York Yankees (1986-1989), California Angels (1990), Pittsburgh Pirates (1991), and St. Louis Cardinals (1992-1993).
Fisher was drafted by the California Angels in the 4th round of the 1981 MLB Draft, but did not sign. He was then drafted by the New York Yankees in the 1st round (10th overall) of the 1982 MLB Draft.
Primarily a starting pitcher, Fisher reached the majors in 1986 with the Yankees, making 28 starts. His best season was arguably 1988, when he posted a 12-9 record with a 3.71 ERA in 31 starts. He was traded to the California Angels prior to the 1990 season. After a season in California, he continued his career with the Pirates and Cardinals, primarily working out of the bullpen in later years.
Fisher finished his MLB career with a record of 42-48, a 4.38 ERA, and 336 strikeouts in 811.2 innings pitched.
