Brant Ust
Brant Ust (born January 1, 1978) is a former professional baseball infielder. He played parts of two seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Detroit Tigers (2005) and the Pittsburgh Pirates (2006).
Ust was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the seventh round of the 1999 MLB Draft out of the University of Notre Dame, where he played college baseball. Primarily a shortstop and second baseman, Ust was known for his defensive versatility and ability to play multiple infield positions.
After spending several years in the Tigers' minor league system, Ust made his MLB debut in 2005. He played sparingly for the Tigers that season and was later traded to the Pittsburgh Pirates. He appeared in a limited number of games for the Pirates in 2006.
Following his MLB career, Ust continued to play in the minor leagues and independent baseball leagues.
