Bishop Byrne High School (Tennessee)
Bishop Byrne High School was a Catholic high school located in Memphis, Tennessee. It operated from 1963 to 1992. The school was named after Bishop William Byrne, the Bishop of Nashville from 1929 to 1961. It was administered by the Diocese of Memphis. The school served students in grades 9-12. Bishop Byrne was known for its academic rigor and strong athletic programs. The school closed due to declining enrollment and financial challenges faced by the diocese. The campus was subsequently repurposed. Alumni often refer to the strong sense of community fostered during the school's existence.
