Bill Gill (soccer)
Bill Gill was an English professional footballer who played as a centre forward. He is best known for his time with Huddersfield Town during the interwar period.
Gill began his career with local non-league clubs before joining Huddersfield Town in 1922. He quickly established himself in the first team, forming a prolific partnership with George Brown. Gill was a key member of the Huddersfield Town team that won three consecutive First Division titles from 1923-24 to 1925-26.
After leaving Huddersfield Town, Gill played for several other clubs, including Birmingham City and Bradford City. He retired from professional football in the late 1930s.
Gill was known for his powerful shot and excellent heading ability. He was a consistent goalscorer throughout his career and is remembered as one of Huddersfield Town's greatest ever players.
