Benejúzar
Benejúzar is a municipality located in the Vega Baja del Segura comarca of the province of Alicante, in the Valencian Community, Spain. It is situated on the left bank of the Segura River and is primarily an agricultural area, known for its citrus fruit production. The population is approximately 5,500 inhabitants (as of recent estimates). The town's history dates back to the Roman period, though significant development occurred during the Moorish occupation. After the Reconquista, it became part of the Kingdom of Valencia. The local economy is predominantly based on agriculture, although there is some growth in the service sector. The patron saint of Benejúzar is San Cosme and San Damián, whose feast day is celebrated annually.
